Proposed alliance would put Gemini Titan behind crypto event contracts offered through Apex’s brokerage infrastructure

TL;DR

  • Gemini Space Station Inc. and Apex Fintech Solutions signed a non-binding letter of intent covering distribution of regulated crypto prediction markets through Apex brokerages.
  • Gemini Titan would serve as the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant, with Gemini handling execution and clearing.
  • The companies may also collaborate non-exclusively on sports, economics and financial-market event contracts.

Gemini Space Station Inc. and Apex Fintech Solutions announced on Aug. 24, 2026, that they signed a non-binding letter of intent to distribute crypto prediction markets through Apex’s brokerage network. Under the proposed arrangement, Gemini Titan would become the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant, while participating brokerages would use Gemini for execution and clearing.

Apex provides trading and clearing infrastructure to hundreds of financial firms serving tens of millions of investors, according to the company. The proposed arrangement would give Gemini another distribution channel for its prediction-market business by allowing brokerage firms connected through Apex to offer crypto event contracts while using Gemini’s regulated infrastructure.

“Under the alliance, brokerages that offer crypto event contracts through Apex's FCM will use Gemini for execution and clearing,” the companies said.

The exclusivity applies to crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant. Gemini and Apex may also work together on other event-contract categories, including sports, economics and financial markets, but those potential arrangements would be non-exclusive.

The companies had not finalized the agreement at the time of the announcement and said they expected to settle details of the collaboration “in the coming weeks.”

Existing stock-trading relationship expands toward prediction markets

Gemini and Apex already work together on U.S. equities. Apex Clearing Corporation provides custody and clearing for Gemini’s zero-commission stock-trading offering for certain U.S. customers, which launched in July.

Gemini began offering prediction-market trading in December 2025 after Gemini Titan obtained a Designated Contract Market license from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Gemini later expanded its internal derivatives infrastructure when another subsidiary, Gemini Olympus, received a Derivatives Clearing Organization license from the CFTC in April 2026, allowing it to handle derivatives clearing and settlement for Gemini Titan in-house.

Gemini’s second-quarter 2026 earnings presentation showed that more than 225 million event contracts had been traded on Titan, with more than 27,000 cumulative traders.

Polymarket and Kalshi remained larger participants in the prediction-market sector, with tens of billions in monthly trading volume.

Prediction markets are also one of the core elements of Gemini 2.0 alongside artificial intelligence, according to founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.

“Our thesis is that prediction markets will be as big or bigger than today's capital markets,” Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss said. “Predictions will be the machine within our app to see the future. A truth machine.”

State-level legal challenges continue around prediction markets

The proposed Apex distribution arrangement comes as prediction markets face legal challenges at the state level in the United States.

A Washington state judge recently ordered Kalshi to stop offering a broad range of event contracts in the state, rejecting Kalshi’s argument that federal commodities law preempts state gambling law.

The ruling concerned Kalshi rather than Gemini Titan or Apex, but it reflects the legal disputes developing around federally regulated event contracts and state gambling requirements as prediction-market platforms expand their offerings.
